    My wife Anna and I were looking for an icon that made for a good family purchase now that we have a newly illumined daughter, Miriam Rachel. The Presentation of the Theotokos certainly represented the sort of preservation and upbringing we can only wish for our firstborn. There are various versions of this icon, but this version seems to maintain more of the beautiful theology than others: Sts Joakim and Anna showing old age with the appearance of heavy eyes, and particularly the Theotokos taking her seat in the Holy of Holies, being ministered to. Not all versions showcase this tradition. The original image/print isn't the highest of resolution, but the overall icon is very well made and preserves nicely with the matte finish.
