About Our Icons

About our Mounted Icons

All our images are printed on museum quality, heavyweight paper. We print with HDR inks using high-resolution large format printers. To help prevent scratches and fading, our prints are sealed with a matte laminate giving them both water as well as UV resistance. We then mount them to a solid, 3/4" solid wood panel. The sides and edges are  beveled, sanded and painted a classic Byzantine red. They are then finished with a convenient keyhole on the back for easy hanging.

Our Icon Sizes

Although all our icons are printed right here at the shop, the originals come from all over the world and were painted in a great variety of shapes and sizes. Therefore, because it was impossible to create categories for each unique size, we use 5 standard sizes. All our icons meet at least one of the two and, at times, both of the dimensions of a given size category. For example, an icon in the Large (8"x10") category could be 7" wide x 10" high, 8" wide x 9" high, or 8" wide x 10" high.

We therefore recommend that you do not buy frames for any of our prints, or make any plans, before receiving them and measuring the exact size. If you would like to know the exact dimensions of specific icons before ordering, please feel free to contact us. Generally, it's quite easy for us to make slight changes to a product's dimensions and we are more than happy to accommodate your requests.

If you need an icon larger than one of our standard sizes, we also offer our entire catalog in Wide Format on two types of fine, art quality, Epson Premium Media: Fine Art Canvas and Enhanced Matte Paper.

About our Laminated Icon Prints

For those customers who prefer our icons unmounted, we also offer our entire catalogue as simple laminated prints. For these icons we use either a matte or, in some instances a glossy laminate. As with our mounted icons, our laminated print sizes are approximate and follow the same standard sizing. NO RETURNS for Laminated Prints are accepted unless the problem is a material or workmanship imperfection from our production.
